Earlier this month, Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill passing a six-week abortion ban in Florida starting May 1st, 2024. There will be some exceptions including (but not limited to) cases of rape, incest, fatal fetal anomalies, and medical emergencies.
It can be overwhelming to think that big and personal life decisions like pregnancy or abortion are out of our hands, but before we start to panic, it’s important to stop, take a deep breath, and ground ourselves with information and knowledge first.
- You’re not alone: If you think you may be pregnant, remember that support is available. Don’t panic. You can chat with a nurse on our website 24/7. We also offer same-day appointments so you can get the help you need fast.
- Access to Information and Care: You always have the right to ask for help. At Aspire, we prioritize your well-being and confidentiality. Our experienced nurses and staff administer medical-grade pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, STI/STD tests, pregnancy options counseling, and information about the abortion pill.
- Health Considerations: Ordering the abortion pill without knowing your individual health status first can pose risks, especially if you have an undiagnosed STI/STD. You can read more about those risks here. Pre-abortion screening appointments at Aspire are always confidential.
