Abortion Pill Reversal. What You Need to Know.
If you have taken mifepristone, the first drug in the abortion pill process, and are having second thoughts, you may not be out of options. Abortion pill reversal is possible, but acting quickly is important.
We are here to help you figure out your next step.
What is the abortion pill?
The abortion pill is a two-step drug process used to end a pregnancy within the first ten weeks.* If you want to learn more about how it works, visit our abortion pill information page. If you have already taken the first pill and are reconsidering, keep reading.
Can it be reversed?
Yes, and sooner is better.
If you have taken the first pill but have not yet taken the second, there may still be time to intervene. Through abortion pill reversal, progesterone is used to counteract the effects of the first pill and give the pregnancy a chance to continue.
The sooner you reach out, the more options you have. Abortion pill reversal is most effective when started within 24 hours of taking mifepristone, but it may work when started up to 72 hours after.
Even if you are unsure how much time has passed, do not wait to reach out. Also, the Abortion Pill Rescue Network operates a 24/7 helpline at 1-877-558-0333 and can help you figure out if reversal is still possible.

Disclaimer
Please note that abortion pill reversal has been shown to increase the chances of allowing a pregnancy to continue. However, the outcome of any individual reversal attempt cannot be guaranteed.
*Please note that while the abortion pill can be used up to ten weeks, Florida law currently limits abortion to six weeks of gestation.
